Julienne Broussard Named to 2026 Belhaven Athletics Hall of Fame Class

JACKSON, Miss. - Julienne Broussard spent just two seasons at Belhaven, but opposing hitters rarely found an answer for her. Her work in the circle helped carry the Blazers through a change in competition and into a national championship game.

Broussard has been selected to the 2026 Belhaven Athletics Hall of Fame class. She starred for the softball program in 2015 and 2016 during Belhaven's transition from the NAIA to NCAA Division III.

The Carencro, Louisiana, native arrived from LSU Eunice with championship experience. She helped the Bengals win the 2013 NJCAA Division II national title and earned the tournament's Outstanding Pitcher award.

Broussard quickly established herself at Belhaven. She earned First Team All-Southern States Athletic Conference honors in 2015 and recorded 128 strikeouts with a 1.79 ERA. She completed 14 games during her first season with the Blazers.

Her second season brought even better results. Broussard posted a 1.13 ERA and struck out 141 batters against just 21 walks in 2016. Opponents hit only .150 against her.

She delivered one of her best performances during a record-setting stretch for the team. Broussard threw a five-inning, one-hit shutout against Howard Payne on April 8, 2016, striking out 10 without allowing a walk in the 9-0 victory.

The win was Belhaven's 19th straight and broke the school record for consecutive victories. The Blazers won the second game of the doubleheader to extend the streak to 20.

Broussard earned national recognition throughout the season. She received Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III National Pitcher of the Week honors on March 30th and earned a spot on the NFCA All-West Region First Team. She also received NCCAA Second Team All-American honors.

Belhaven finished the season as the NCCAA World Series runner-up. Broussard's pitching helped the Blazers reach the championship game during their first season of NCAA Division III competition.

Broussard's career numbers still stand among the best in Belhaven history. Her .169 opponent batting average remains the program record, and her 1.49 career ERA ranks second. She gave the Blazers a dependable presence in the circle and helped the program compete for a national title during an important chapter in its history.
