BOSSIER CITY, La. - The Belhaven Golf team finished up their trip to Louisiana on Tuesday as the Blazers competed in the Hal Sutton Invitational hosted by Centenary College. The Blazers finished 10th among teams in the event which featured programs from across Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. As a team Belhaven shot a combined 345 (+57) on the opening day in Bossier City before finishing the two-day event with a 338 (+50).
Among the individuals, Belhaven was led by
Paxton Fishburne who ended the two rounds tied for 38th. The Charlotte, North Carolina native finished the opening round just outside the Top 30 after shooting an 83 (+11). Fishburne then finished the Invitational with an 85 (+13).
Isaac Wells finished tied for 40th among individuals after posting an 86 (+14) opening round before finishing up with an 84 (+12) in the second round. Rounding out the top trio for the Blazers was
Preston Hood. The Richmond, Texas native shot a 172 (+28) across the two days and finished tied for 43rd among individuals.
Ashton Anderson finished tied for 45th among individuals in Louisiana while
Wyatt Carter ended his weekend tied for 50th.
Belhaven Golf returns to action in a couple of weeks when they travel to Memphis, Tennessee to compete in the Rhodes Spring Collegiate. The tournament, hosted by Rhodes College, is set for April 3-4 and marks the final tournament of the year for the Blazers ahead of the Collegiate Conference of the South Championships in Dalton, Georgia.
