2023 Belhaven Track & Field Spring Schedule Preview

JACKSON, Miss. - The 2023 Belhaven Track and Field Spring Season has arrived and the Blazers' Men and Women are set to kickoff their spring campaign on Saturday, January 21st as they travel to Birmingham, Alabama to compete in the Samford Invitational. 

It's set to be a busy spring for the Blazers who have embarked on their first season under Blazers' Head Coach Butch Ard as new faces and returners come together to compete in 11 meets through the next three and a half months.

After kicking off the campaign on Saturday at the Samford Invitational the Blazers will then head to Sewanee, Tennessee on January 28th where they'll compete in the Sewanee Tiger Invitational to round out the month of January. 

The Blazers will then have an open weekend before heading back to Birmingham to compete in the Samford Bulldog Invitational on February 11th before heading to Cape Girardeau, Missouri on the following Friday, February 17th, for the SEMO Redhawks Open. 

To open up the month of March it'll be a short trip for the Blazers who will travel down I-20 West to Clinton to compete in the MC Season Opener on March 4th which marks the start of the Outdoor Season.

On March 10th Belhaven will hope to have athletes who have qualified and are competing in the NCAA DIII Indoor Championships hosted in Birmingham. After an open weekend the follows the Indoor Championships the Blazers will play hosts as over a dozen schools descend upon Jackson, Mississippi for the Belhaven University Invitational.

Belhaven will open the month of April in Hattiesburg on April 1st where they will compete in the Southern Miss Invitational before a midweek meet on April 5th in Raymond in the Hinds Relays. The final regular season meet of the year will take place in Memphis, Tennessee on April 15th as the Blazers travel to compete in the Rhodes Lynx Invitational.

On April 27th and 28th, Belhaven will have the honor of hosting the first Conference Meet for the Collegiate Conference of the South and hope to make an immediate impact in the newly-formed CCS. The season will cap off in late May as those that qualify for BU will travel to Rochester, New York for the NCAA DIII Outdoor Championships.
