Box Score 2 ABILENE, Texas - The Belhaven Baseball team took both ends of a crucial doubleheader against ASC foe Hardin-Simmons on Thursday grabbing a narrow 3-2 victory in the series opener and following that with a 5-2 victory over the Cowboys on Thursday's game two.
GAME ONE

In the top of the 5th inning Belhaven took their first lead of the day when, once again,
Nathan Herron came up big. This time the Batesville native grabbed an RBI double that scored
Kyle McLaughlin and put BU in front 2-1.Â
Belhaven got an insurance run that would prove to be the winner in the top of the 6th when
Matthew Charbonnet produced a sacrifice fly that scored
Hunter White. The hosts got a run back in the bottom of the 6th inning but Belhaven starter
Harris Coleman shut down any late rally attempt by the Cowboys to close out the contest.Â

The second run of the inning came when
Grayson Doss scored on a throwing error by the HSU defense and the frame was capped off by an RBI single from
Caleb Whittle which drove in
Matthew Charbonnet.Â
In the top of the 3rd the Blazers added a pair to their lead with both runs coming on an RBI double from
