CLARKESVILLE, Ga. - The Belhaven Golf team continued play in Day Two of the Piedmont Invitational on Tuesday. The Blazers 'A' team finished in 8th place after carding a 640 (+64) over the two rounds, while the 'B' team grabbed a 9th place finish with a team score of 651 (+75).
Gannon Williams led the Blazers on the leaderboard, finishing t-12th after shooting 77 (+5) in his second round. Freshman
Merrick Rotolo led the way for the 'A' team, firing a round-two 77 (+5) to bring his tournament total to +11 (t-16th).
Luke Couch and
Jake Shmonov each totaled 161 (+17) after shooting 79 (+7) and 83 (+11) respectively in round two.
Andrew Scherer (+22) and
Will Justice (+24) rounded out the 'A' team's scoring on the leaderboard.
Isaac Wells fired a second-round 82 (+10) to finish t-40th after his 84 (+12) a day ago.
Ashton Anderson and
Preston Hood each carded 170 (+26) to finish t-48th. Hood was impressive in his second round, shooting just four-over on the 18 holes.
Paxton Fishburne capped off the scoring for Belhaven, as the freshman improved 14 shots from his first round to finish at 178 (+34) for the tournament.
The Blazers will wrap up their fall slate in two weeks (October 24-25) when they participate in the Chick-Fil-A Intercollegiate in Rome, Georgia.
