CLARKSVILLE, Ga. - The Belhaven Golf team wrapped up the first day of the Piedmont Invitational on Monday with the Blazers sending two teams to compete in the tournament. As a team, the Belhaven 'A' squad currently sits 7th in the tournament after finishing +30 in the opening round with a combined score of 318. Meanwhile the Belhaven 'B' team currently sits in 11th among teams with a (+46) 334 on the first day of competition.

Among individuals, Gannon Williams who is competing with the 'B' squad, had the best day for the Belhaven program after shooting a 76 (+4) in his opening round. Merrick Rotolo and Jake Shmonov are both the joint-leaders for the Belhaven 'A' squad after carding 78 (+6) rounds on Monday. 

Round out the 7th place squad, Andrew Sherer finished the opening round at +8 with an 80 on the day while Luke Couch finishes out the counting scores with an 82 (+10) after 18 holes. As it stands, Will Justice sits 5th among that group with an 85 (+13) on the first day.

With regards to the second squad, Ashton Anderson sits behind the aforementioned Gannon Williams after he shot an 80 (+8) in Georgia. Isaac Wells sits +12 so far after shooting 84 while Preston Hood and Paxton Fishburne shot 94 (+22) and 96 (+24) respectively.

The second and final round of the Piedmont Invitational is set for Tuesday with the Blazers getting started at 9 AM ET / 8 AM CT.
