Jackson, Miss. - Linebacker Connor Fordham was named C Spire Athlete of the Week following his performance on the gridiron against the Millsaps College Majors this past Thursday night. The Wedowee, Ala. native earned ASC Third team honors last year with the Green and Gold. 

Fordham tallied four total tackles, one interception, one fumble recovery (which was a touchdown), and one pass break up.  

The Blazers played in one contest this season and cruised to a 56-28 victory over rivals Millsaps College. With the win, the Blazers improved to 1-0 on the year.  

Fordham and the rest of the Blazers will return to action on September 11 inside the Belhaven Bowl Stadium against the Southwestern University Pirates. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
