CLINTON, Miss. - Both cross country teams competed in the Mississippi College Season Opener to begin the season at Choctaw trails, hosted by Mississippi College. Both teams ran the 5K to open the season. 

On the women's side, Francie Leduff finished the race at the 24:08.4 mark, good enough for a 45th place finish out of 74 competitors.  

On the men's side, Theodore McCarty crossed the finish line first for the Green and Gold with a time of 17:42.4. Junior Kirk Walker was the final Blazer that completed the race at the 21:44.5 mark.  

The Blazers will return to the course on September 11 in Mobile, Ala. at the Azalea City Classic, hosted by the University of South Alabama.
