JACKSON, Miss. - Belhaven running back Brad Foley has earned a nomination to the 2021 Conerly Trophy, awarded annually to the best college football player in the state of Mississippi. 

Foley has established himself as one of the most prolific rushers in Blazers' history and his 2021 campaign propelled him to new heights. During the 2021 season, Foley was the leader of the Belhaven rushing attack leading the team with 584 yards across the five game schedule. That mark was the second highest total in the American Southwest Conference and his 116.8 yards per game average was the top mark of his career.

In addition to his rushing productivity, Foley also recorded 123 receiving yards on 10 receptions including his game-winning 41-yard touchdown catch against Louisiana College with 23 seconds left in the game. In total, Foley had four total touchdowns on the season and 805 all-purpose yards. Foley was named to the All-ASC First Team Offense for the year. 

Across his career, Foley has continued to catapult up the all-time rushing rankings for the Belhaven program and at the conclusion of the 2021 season, was 2nd all-time in rushing yards with 2,144 and simultaneously became just the 2nd player in program history to cross the 2,000 yards rushing mark.

Along with his team, Foley helped the Blazers to a 3-2 record in the abbreviated 2021 spring schedule in the ASC. This included winning the final three games of the season which is the longest winning streak for the program since 2012. 

The Blazers will look to continue their momentum this fall with Foley in need of just 19 rushing yards to become the program's all-time leading rusher.
