Blaine McCorkle Named ASC Coach of the Year for Second Straight Season

RICHARDSON, Texas - Belhaven Head Football Coach Blaine McCorkle was named the ASC Coach of the Year for a second straight season following a historic season for the Belhaven program in which they went 7-3, the best record in program history.

McCorkle and the Blazers finished 6-3 in ASC play which put them third in the end of season conference standings behind #2 UMHB and #8 Hardin-Simmons.

Under McCorkle, the Blazers posted some of their best numbers on both sides of the ball. The BU offense finished the season as the highest rated red zone team in Division III converting on over 94% of their trips.

The offense finished with new single season records in rushing yards (2,501) and rushing touchdowns (29) while also posting the highest yards per play mark (6.4) in program history.

McCorkle also saw Carlton Brown named the ASC Defensive Lineman of the Year as well as 16 players receiving all-conference postseason recognition.
