JACKSON, Miss. – Destiny Johnson has been named C Spire Athlete of the Week following her performances on the court against Birmingham Southern College this past week. 
 
Johnson scored 14 points in the win over BSC last Friday as she collected 14 rebounds in the game to post her first double-double on the early season. The Blazers and Panthers competed again this past Tuesday and Johnson had another double-double. She posted12 points, had 10 rebounds, and went 5-for-9 from the field. 
 
On the season, she is averaging 9.5 points per game, shooting 51 percent from the field, and has nine rebounds per game. 
 
Johnson and the rest of the Blazers are 2-2 at this point in the season. Belhaven returns to action on January 9^th to open conference play with Sul Ross State University Lobos in Rugg Arena at 5:30 p.m.
