Box Score 2 JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven University baseball team was swept by the ETBU Tigers in a doubleheader matchup Friday afternoon.Â
The Blazers took game one on Thursday by a final score of 7-6 but then dropped the final two games of the series by scores of 5-4 and 6-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Game one
- Jeremy Bateman led off the game for the Tigers with a triple and later scored on a sac hit from Zach Gartner, giving the Tigers the 1-0 lead.
- The Blazers answered in the bottom of the first after Colton Fontana and Kreg Garner each crossed the plate from back to back sac hits from Will Costinett and Trip Benson. At the end of one inning the Blazers led 2-1.
- In the bottom of the third inning, Antoine Watts singled to centerfield, scoring Trip Benson from third base to extend the Blazers leas to 3-1.
- The Tigers struck with two runs in the top of the fourth to tie the ball game up at 3-3.
- In the top of the sixth inning, tied 3-3, the Tigers broke a tie ball game when Dylan Singletary singled to left field, scoring Jeremy Bateman and giving the Tigers a 4-3 advantage.
- Down to its final strike, the Blazers Will Costinett delivered the tying run with two outs, hitting an RBI single to right field to make the score 4-4.
- In extra innings, the ETBU Tigers scored the go ahead to take a 5-4 lead.
- Belhaven would go three up three down in extra innings at the plate, falling in game one to the Tigers by a score of 5-4.
- Game two
- Three hits in the top of the first allowed the Tigers to jump out to a quick 1-0 lead.
- ETBU added one more run in the top half of the second inning to push the Tigers lead to 2-0.
- With the bases juiced in the top of the fourth inning, the ETBU Tigers forced a bases loaded walk to give them a 3-0 advantage.
- East Texas Baptist extended its lead to 4-0 in the top of the fifth inning and then added two more runs in the sixth inning to go ahead 6-0.
- ETBU won game three of the series by a final score of 6-0. The Blazers fell to 7-18 overall and 4-11 on American Southwest Conference play.
