Box Score Jackson, Miss - With the off-season finally over, the 2017 men's soccer team opened their regular season tonight against the Centenary College Gents. 

This game marked the second year in a row that these two teams would square off against one another, with last years game resulting in a 2-1 victory for the Gents men's soccer team.

This match up took place on a neutral site across the street at Millsaps College and would take more than the usual 90 minutes to decide the outcome. 

After not one, but two overtime periods, the game ended in a draw with a final score of 1-1. 
Sophomore midfielder, Nathan Ratzlaff, scored the lone goal in the game for the Blazers.

The team will return to action Monday night, September 4, in a home opener against rival Millsaps College at Belhaven Bowl Stadium. The game will kick off at 7 PM.
