JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven baseball team prepares for its final four home games this weekend, beginning on Wednesday with a non-conference game with Rust Wednesday afternoon before hosting the Ozarks on Thursday and Friday.
The Blazers (18-14, 8-10 ASC) will play the Bearcats at 4 p.m. Wednesday. The three-game series with the Eagles will consist of a doubleheader on Thursday, beginning at 4 p.m., and the series finale will begin at 1 p.m. Senior Day will take place prior to first pitch.

Ammirati, one of four Blazers who have been with the Baseball program for four years, has a career .313 batting average in 132 career games for BU. The Queens, N.Y. native has posted a career .414 slugging percentage thanks to 16 career doubles, three triples and three home runs and a .401 on-base percentage. In 2017, Ammirati has a batting average of .375 with two home runs and 18 RBI.
Boyd came to the program last season after transferring from Northeast Mississippi Community College. Boyd is 2-5 in 25 career appearance as a Blazer, and earned his first career win on March 18 at McMurry, tossing seven shutout innings in relief, scattering five hits and two walks, while fanning five batters. In 42.2 career innings, the Columbus, Miss. native has walked 16 batters with 32 strikeouts.
Brown transferred to Belhaven from Copiah-Lincoln Community College last season. In 15 career starts, the Braxton, Miss. native has five complete games. In his first career start vs. Illinois Wesleyan last March 15, Brown tossed a nine-inning complete game, allowed two unearned runs on six hits with two walks and strikeouts each on 111 pitches. Brown has a career record of 4-6 in 21 appearances. In 2017, Brown has fanned 32 batters in 31 innings.
Cable's 2016 season was sidelined after five starts due to injury, but he picked up where he left off in 2017, going 3-2 with a 2.25 ERA with a ASC-leading 66 strikeouts in 56 innings pitched. The Southaven, Miss. native has recorded two complete games, while allowing opposing hitters to a .222 batting average. In his start at McMurry on February 26, 2016, after retiring 12 Louisiana College batters a week ago, Cable punched out 14 Warhawks batters in eight innings, while allowing two hits and one unearned run. His efforts on the mound earned him NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week honors. Cable has posted a 7-2 career record with a 2.42 ERA with 115 strikeouts in 89.1 innings.
Hodges is climbing up the Belhaven Baseball record books, finishing ninth-best in school history in stolen bases in 2016 with 30 steals. Now at 48 steals in his career, the Brandon, Miss. native is two shy of 50, and can become the eighth Blazer to eclipse 50 career steals. The Northwest Rankin product stole four bases in a game twice this season. Hodges has posted a career .376 average, 14 homers and 59 RBI.
Miley, who came to Belhaven from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, has posted a career. 269 batting average in 70 career games. The Tupelo, Miss. native has scored 41 times, while stealing 24 bases.
Payne, also a four-year letterman with the baseball team, has played in 72 games behind the plate for the Green and Gold. The Columbus, Miss. native smashed his first career home run at McMurry last season, but his second career homer was memorable. Payne hit a walk-off solo shot against Concordia Texas on March 24 in the bottom of the 11th inning.
Richardson has a career 5.56 ERA in 41.1 innings. The Florence, Miss. native, in 47 appearances, has an opposing batting average of .246.
During the 2017 season, Sexton has recorded 10 doubles and eight home runs for a .595 slugging percentage. The Pontotoc, Miss. native has a .302 batting average with 25 runs scored.
Veith, also a four-letterman with the baseball program, has a .288 batting average in 57 career games for the Blazers. The Pensacola, Fla. native recorded his first career home run last season at Concordia Texas.
Preview: Rust College
Rust (5-22) has earned two wins each against Tougaloo and Lincoln Christian, and their fifth win came against Principia.
The Bearcats are an NCAA Division III institution and are an independent affiliation. BU is 7-1 this season against Rust, with wins in volleyball and two wins each in softball, women's tennis and men's tennis.

Ozarks (9-19, 3-12 ASC) has a team .281 batting average, but on the pitching side, the Eagles have posted a 7.53 ERA.
Justin Crider and Chase Edwards lead the team in hitting. In 28 games, Crider has a .376 batting average with 19 RBI and Edwards has 20 runs driven in with a .355 average. The duo have slugged four homers each to lead the team.
Out of the bullpen for the Eagles, Hayden Keller has posted a 3.04 ERA in 10 appearances for UO, good for eight earned runs in 23.2 innings pitched.
