"We're struggling offensively, and we don't have enough people scoring," Head Coach Rusty Cram said. "We made three or four crucial mistakes late, and we just couldn't afford that."

Belhaven's offense was fittingly led by senior forward Erika LeFlore, who picked up her 1000th career point early in the game. For the night, she posted a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, leading the Blazers in both categories. Ariel Wilson added 13 points, while Candler Gregory contributed 11 of her own.

Blue Mountain's Anna Brooke Page finished with 18 points to lead all scorers, while Kristen Milewski and Kyesha Clark followed with 17 and 11 respectively. Page also led her team in rebounds, as her eight on the game were second only to LeFlore's.

The Blazers shot 31% from the field, while BMC countered with a 39% success rate. The visitors also won the battle on the glass by a tally of 40-37 despite a slight disadvantage in the turnover category.

The Lady Toppers got to the free throw line just four times in the first half, but the second half proved to be Belhaven's Achilles' heal. Blue Mountain connected on 17 of 22 from the stripe after the break to finish 18 of 26.

"Free throws were the difference in this game," Cram said. "We have to keep focusing on fundamentals."

Belhaven returns to SSAC action on Thursday, when they will travel to the University of Mobile. Tipoff is slated for 5:30 pm.

"Our games aren't going to get easier," Cram said. "We're getting closer, but we haven't turned the corner the way we need to just yet."
