"We scored enough points to win, but we didn't make good decisions in crunch time," Belhaven Head Coach Rusty Cram said. "To win on the road in this conference, you have to take advantage of opportunities, and we just didn't do that tonight."

Four Blazers scored in double figures, highlighted by Ariel Wilson's team-high 18 points off the bench. Tashayla Steede, Erika LeFlore, and Ce-Ce Pittman followed with 13, 12 and 10 respectively, while Steede posted a game-high 14 rebounds to complete her double-double.

The Warriors countered with five players in double-figures, as Michelle Anaya's 15 were second only to Belhaven's Wilson. Cayse Branyon added 14 of her own, while Christiana Perkins, Brooke Strickland, and Chelsie Waters contributed 10 apiece. Anaya led the team with 13 rebounds, while Perkins pulled down ten of her own.

Belhaven's bench outscored Southern Wesleyan's 30-17, but the Warriors out-rebounded their guests 51-45. The Blazers shot nine for 20 from the charity stripe, while the hosts connected on 16 of 29. Despite a brief lead in the second half, the Blazers were unable to overcome 25 turnovers.

The Blazers will return to SSAC action on Saturday, when they take on Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, Georgia. Tipoff is slated for 2:00 pm.

"Southern Poly has the best player in the conference, and we lost to them twice last year," Cram said. "We have to be more fundamental to give ourselves a chance to win the game."
