MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Belhaven men's golf team concluded their 2012-13 season on Wednesday afternoon at the Southern States Athletic Conference tournament. Led by senior
Ian McAdams, the Blazers finished in 11
th place at Lagoon Park in Montgomery.
McAdams performed very well in the three-day event for Belhaven, acting as the consistent anchor and team captain. He began the tournament on Monday with a 77 on the par-72 course, but improved as the week went on.
The senior shot 75 and 76 in the next two rounds to finish as the team lead for the Blazers. He finished 31
st overall individually.
Joe Saia just trailed McAdams, tying for 45
th place in the tournament. He shot 78, 79 and 81 in consecutive rounds to finish 10 strokes behind the Blazers' top golfer.
Freshman
Andrew Bartelt and Issac Tipton finished in 50
th and 53th place respectively to complete the scoring for the Blazers.
Lee University won the conference title by shooting an impressive 13-under par during the three-day tournament. Their first round six-under paced them to ultimately win the tournament.
Faulkner finished just five strokes behind the Flames, coming in second place at eight-under par. Coastal Georgia took third place as the final team to shoot under par on the week.
