Box Score
JACKSON, Miss.-The Belhaven baseball team won in dramatic fashion on Tuesday night thanks to a 12th inning walk off home run by junior Joshua Bouldin that sent the Blazers to a 5-4 victory against Bethel University (TN) at Smith-Wills Stadium. Tuesday's game was the first extra inning contest of the season for the Blazers, who are ranked 15th in the Preseason NAIA Top 25 Poll.

Belhaven (12-4) shot out in front with three runs in the bottom of the first inning on a two run triple by left fielder Anthony Doss and a sacrifice fly from third baseman Bud Britt. Bethel (3-4) got a run back in the third on an RBI double by Chris Cain to cut the Blazer lead to 3-1. Belhaven countered with a run in the home half of the third on a run scoring single by first baseman Ryan Saunders that plated Britt, who had reached on a two out single and swiped second base to get into scoring position.

Belhaven continued to enjoy a 4-1 lead until the top of the eighth when the Wildcats pulled even with three runs to tie the game at 4-4. Bethel picked up an RBI double from Brian Ferrell for the first run and then Brett Adams cashed in the second run on an infield single. The Wildcats then tied the game when Cody Crocker grounded out to short, recording the RBI.

Neither team scored again until the bottom of the 12th inning with each team's bullpen keeping the offenses at bay. The bottom of the 12th started with two routine outs as third baseman Dillon Berry struck out and right fielder Tom Wertz grounded out the pitcher. That's when Bouldin stepped up and drilled the game winner over the wall in left field off relief pitcher Turner Bush.

Belhaven was led by Bouldin who was 2 for 5 with a run scored and an RBI followed by Bud Britt who went 2 for 4 with one run batted in. Doss was 1 for 5 with the triple in the first, netting him two runs batted in for the game. Saunders finished the game with a single and RBI while Berry and Jaime Bruno rounded out the box score with one hit apiece. The Blazers ended the night with nine hits as a team.

The Blazers started Ryan Kassab on the mound and for the second straight outing ended up with a no decision. Kassab tossed the first six frames allowing only one run on seven hits with two walks and seven strikeouts. Mark Husband was charged with the three other runs that came in the top of the eighth. Matt Shaw ended up working long relief with the extra frames and recorded 4.2 innings in the books with four strikeouts. Shaw was credited with his first win of the season for his efforts in the Tuesday's game.

Bethel outhit Belhaven 12-9 with Brian Ferrell collecting three hits and an RBI. Brett Adams went 2 for 5 at the plate with a run batted in followed by Chris Cain and Lance Jarreld with two hits each. Cain and Cody Crocker were both credited with runs batted in.
