MOBILE, Ala.-The Belhaven men's golf team finished third at the University of Mobile Rams Fall Invitational held on Monday and Tuesday of this week. The Blazers shot 629 over the two day event, finishing six shots behind Mobile for second place. Spring Hill College won the title with a score of 615.
Senior
Ian McAdams had two good rounds to lead the Blazers in the tournament. McAdams recorded rounds of 78 and 76 for a combined score of 154, good for an individual fourth place finish. Sophomore
Alex Grote fired a 78 on both days for a two day total of 156. Grote landed in a tie for seventh in the individual rankings. Junior
Viktor Heurlin (159 T14), freshman
Andrew Bartelt (160 T16), and sophomore Isaac Tipton (166 T22) rounded out the tournament field for Belhaven. Blazer freshman
Sam Pickett competed as an individual and tallied a combined score of 178.
Spring Hill's Adam Spiller won the individual title with a score of 152.
“I was real proud of the guys today and how they played,” said Belhaven Head Coach
Dan Lickness. “We were 10 shots better today and the team made some big strides this week. The players displayed great focus and it showed up in their scores.”
Belhaven will take a couple of months off from tournament play and will gear up again in the spring.
