JACKSON, Miss.-The Belhaven women's basketball team kept rolling with a 75-54 Southern States Athletic Conference victory over Spring Hill College Saturday afternoon. The Blazers, ranked 18th in the latest NAIA Top 25 Poll, shot just under 51 percent from the field and began the game on 14-0 run to set the tone.

Portia Tucker combined to help construct the 14-0 lead five minutes into the game. April Bradford and Bria Bohanon had back to back baskets to get the Badgers on the board with 13:53 minutes left to go in the first half. Sophomore Ericka Leflore responded a minute later with a bucket pushing the score to 16-4. Jackson eventually closed the half with with a pair of free throws making the score 37-18 at the break. Jackson outscored the entire Spring Hill offense with 19 points in the opening 20 minutes.
In the second half, April Bradford scored first field goal for the Badgers closing the gap to 37-20 15 seconds in the action. However, it's the closet Spring Hill would get the rest of the way. The Blazers defense remained strong and kept the Badgers off the board in the following four minutes enabling Belhaven to put the game away. Belhaven continued to pile on the points and enjoyed a 41 point edge with 10:30 left to go in the game. The last 10 points of the game were scored by the Badgers, but the earlier deficit was too big to overcome as Belhaven cruised to the 75-54 win.
Belhaven (18-5, 11-1 SSAC) was led by Jackson with a game high 27 points and six assists. Johnson added 13 points and junior
Sarah Carr followed with 10 to round out the double digit scorers. Leflore had a team best six rebounds to go along with seven points. The Blazers also owned the boards, outrebounding Spring Hill 40-28. Belhaven drilled 31 of its 61 total field goal attempts and controlled the paint with 46 points scored down low. Belhaven also had 25 points off of 20 Spring Hill turnovers.
Spring Hill (7-13, 2-9 SSAC) was led by April Bradford with 15 points and Tempey Hamilton chipped in 10 off the bench. Bradford also pulled down a game high nine rebounds. The Badgers were held to 37 percent shooting from the field (20-54).
Belhaven will be back in action next Saturday when they travel to Auburn-Montgomery for an SSAC matchup with the Warhawks. Belhaven won the first meeting of the season 60-55 on January 12th. Saturday's tip-off is slated for 2:00 PM.
