Cleveland, TN-The Belhaven women's soccer team lost at Lee University 6-0 on Saturday night in a Southern States Athletic Conference cross division contest. The Flames, who are the defending NAIA National Champions, took control of the match early and pulled away for the win.
Belhaven (4-6-1, 2-3 SSAC) only had two shots in the match and only one shot on goal which came off the foot of
Nicole Williams. The only other attempt was by
Kimber Dear. Goalkeeper
Nicole Walsh allowed all six of Lee's goals while making 12 saves. The Flames unloaded a total of 39 shots in the match.
Lee (7-2, 4-0 SSAC) had six different goal scorers in the match and three players had two assists each. Leah Fortune, Ode Fulutudilu, and Ashley Aragona all had a goal and two assists. Leah Wilson started in net for the Flames and played the majority of the contest as she picked up one save on the night.
Belhaven will take the field again on Friday when they host Southern Wesleyan University in an SSAC cross division game at 12:00 PM. The Blazers will then take on Truett-McConnell College on Saturday night at 5:00 PM.
