Jackson, MS- The Belhaven men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 contest to Southern States Athletic Conference foe Auburn University Montgomery Tuesday night at H.T. Newell Field. The Blazers, ranked 10th in the latest NAIA Top 25 Poll, had various opportunities to get on the scoreboard, but failed to connect with any of their shot attempts. The loss drops the Blazers season record to 12-3 overall and 7-3 in Southern States Athletic Conference play leaving them in fourth place in the SSAC standings.
Goffin Boyoko scored the only goal in the contest for AUM. The goal came off a free kick after a Blazers foul in the 28th minute of the first half. AUM (10-4-1, 8-1 SSAC)gained a 1-0 lead and never looked back as the Blazers had 19 shot attempts with eight on goal but couldn't get one past the keeper and into the back of the net..
Alex Rodriguez led the Blazers on offense with four shot attempts two of which were on goal.
Will Monsour and Guilhereme Sousa both had three shot attempts on the night for the Blazers. Philippe Silveira led the Warhawks in shot attempts with three while Goffin Boyoko had two shot attempts and one goal scored.

Greg Hartley dropped his third contest of the season allowing one goal with two saves. Vignir Johannesson picked up the win for the Warhawks making eight saves without giving up any goals.
The Blazers will head to Montgomery, Ala for their next contest on next Tuesday October 25 against Faulkner University. Game-time is slated for 7:00 PM.
