Clinton, MS- The Belhaven women's cross country team finished fifth out of ten teams at the Mississippi College Opener Tuesday afternoon to begin the 2009 season. The Lady Blazers completed the meet with an overall team time of 1:36:47.82. The University of West Florida won the event followed by Mississippi College, University of Louisiana-Monroe, and Jackson Sate rounded out the top four.

 

Belhaven was led by Hannah Reese who had an outstanding race finishing sixth overall with a time of 16:28.93 in the 4k run. Lea Schumacher crossed the finish line in 24^th position with a time of 18:01.81 and Callie Osborn wasn't far behind with a time of 18:21.34 to finish 26th. Jackie Bateman completed the course in 29^th place with a time of 18:33.61 while Nikki Stackhouse checked in with a total time of 25:22.13.
