Clinton, MS-The Belhaven men's and women's cross country teams hit the trail on Saturday in the 2009 Mississippi College Watson Ford Invitational meet. The Blazer men finished 13th out of 17 teams with a total time of 2:43:32.08 in the 8k race while the Blazer women finished 11th out of 15 teams with a total time of 2:27:09.63 in the 6k race.

For the men, Thomas Kazery was the top runner finishing in 61st place out of 131 runners with a total time of 31:11.93. Peter Davis followed in 72nd position with an overall time of 31:47.47 while Luke Lennon 82nd, Douglas Coker 90th, Andrew Sinclair 114th, Sonny Gunn 121st, and Adam Jones 126th completed the course with times of  32:12.52, 32:38.87, 35:41.29, 41:22.22, and 46:58.00 respectively.

On the women's side, Hannah Reese paced the Blazers finishing 5th out of 106 runners with a total time of 24:50.46. Jackie Bateman completed the course in the 43rd place with a time of 27:50.59 followed by Callie Osborn 50th, Lea Schumacher 51st, and Nikki Stackhouse 106th with total times of 28:09.28, 28:20.56, and 37:58.74.

The Belhaven men's and women's teams will run again on Saturday at the Mississippi College Choctaw Open. The women begin the run at 9:00 AM followed by the men's race at 9:30 AM.
