Jackson, MS-The men's soccer team pitched another shutout Tuesday night as they defeated Central Baptist College by a final of 2-0. The win improves Belhaven's overall record to 7-0-1 on the season while Central Baptist falls below .500 with a record of 4-5.
The Blazer goals came in the first period off the foot of
Juan Rodriguez in the sixth minute and David Mckay in the 44
th minute of action. For Rodriguez, it was his team leading sixth goal of the year increasing his point total to 14 for the season. The goal by McKay was his first for the 08-09 campaign.
Zach Wallace held an opponent scoreless for the third straight time and has six shutouts on the season. Belhaven's defense surrendered only three shots on goal keeping the Mustangs away from the net most of the night.
The Blazer's who are ranked 16th in the latest NAIA poll, will travel to Cleveland, MS to face Delta State University on Saturday for their next match. The contest is slated to begin at 3 PM.
