Belhaven Head Football Coach Don Lee Returning to Olivet Nazarene

Jackson, MS-Belhaven head football coach Don Lee is returning to his alma mater after accepting the head coaching position at Olivet Nazarene University. Lee played four seasons at Olivet and was a three year letterman as a defensive end for the Tigers from 1990-1993. Lee just completed his fourth season as head coach of the Blazers and was an assistant coach at Belhaven for three years prior to being named the head coach in 2005.

“Don is a man of unwavering faith, character and competitiveness and has led our student-athletes and coaches with passion and consistency,” says Scott Little, Director of Athletics/Vice President for Student Affairs and Athletics. “Our loss is Olivet's gain, as they inherit a man who will lead their football program well for years to come.”

Belhaven President Dr. Roger Parrott had these comments on Coach Lee, “If he was headed to any school other than his alma mater, I'd be brushing up my old linebacker skills to tackle Don Lee to keep him here as our head football coach, but it is a great tribute to him to return to Olivet Nazarene. Don has provided strong leadership for our student athletes, building a program in the values that matter most in life, as well as football. He is a coach that wants the best for every player, is always teaching on and off the field, and is a marvelous Christian role model.”

A search for Belhaven's new football coach is now underway.
