The first half of Saturday's game was tightly contested with Lambuth taking a 36-35 advantage into the locker room at halftime. The Eagle's halftime lead was due in part to hitting 10 of their 15 free throw opportunities in the first half. The Blazers only had three free throw attempts but knocked down 50 percent of their field goals and drilled five three pointers in the opening 20 minutes of play.

The second half was dominated by Belhaven with the Blazers outscoring the Eagles 52-31 over the final 20 minutes of game. Belhaven hit 60 percent of their second half shots and went to the line for 21 free throw attempts. Belhaven converted on 14 of those attempts while Lambuth managed to hit only 6 of their 16 shots at the line. Belhaven's defense held Lambuth to 36.5 percent shooting from the field for the game and forced 23 turnovers.

The Blazers had three players score in double figures with Korey Whiting leading the way with a game high 18 points. Julien Marion added 15 points and Iman Walcott chipped in 13 points and had a team high seven rebounds. Marion was perfect from the field as all of his 15 points came on five for five shooting from three point land. Belhaven has been looking for a spark from behind the ark and got it Saturday night from Marion.

Belhaven returns to the friendly confines of Rugg Arena for their next contest Tuesday night as they face Oakwood University beginning at 7:30 PM.
