Jackson, MS-The Belhaven women's soccer team locked up win number six on the season as they defeated Lambuth University Wednesday night 2-0. The win runs Belhaven' overall record to 6-1 while dropping the Lady Eagles to 3-4-1. Their only defeat of the season came against cross-town rival Millsaps College this past Friday.
The Lady Blazers struck early getting a goal from
Nicole Trawick in the fifth minute, which was her seventh on the season.
Evelyn Torres was credited with her second assist of the season on the play. Belhaven was held scoreless for the remainder of the first half and the score remained 1-0 going into the break. However, early in the second half the Lady Blazers would connect on their second goal of the night coming off the foot of
Christin Kaim. It was her second tally of the year which made the score 2-0.
Catherine Dunst picked up her third assist of the 2008 campaign on the goal by Kaim.
Kristin Parson had 3 saves in net for Belhaven en route to her sixth victory of the year. Parson's save total now stands at 18 for the season.
Belhaven hits the road again this weekend for a non-conference showdown with Union College. The match is set to get underway at 6 PM.
