Jackson, TN-The Belhaven women's soccer team lost for just the second time this season Saturday night in a 2-0 decision versus Union University (TN). The Lady Blazers were held to just four shots on goal and were unable to muster any offense. Much of the action took place on Belhaven's end of the field as Union attempted 13 shots, nine of which were shots on goal.

 

Belhaven Goalkeeper Kristin Parson made seven saves in the match. Both of Union's goals came off the foot of Caitlin Zimmerman and took place in the first period. Goal number one was scored in the tenth minute followed by the second score in minute 25.

 

With the loss, Belhaven's record stands at 6-2 on the year. Union University improves to 7-3 in the 2008 campaign. The Lady Blazers will host LSU-Shreveport in their conference opener this Wednesday night. The game is scheduled for 5:30 at H.T. Newell field.
