JACKSON, Miss. - Belhaven women's tennis player Mary Lichlyter has been named the C Spire Athlete of the Week, following her performance against rival Millsaps College. 

Lichlyter helped lead Belhaven to a 7-2 victory over Millsaps on Thursday, earning a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles and an 8-4 victory at No. 3 doubles.

For the season, the Alabaster, Ala. native has recorded a perfect 7-0 record in singles play, picking up wins at the one, two, three and four positions. 

With the win at Millsaps, the Blazers increased their win streak to six games, and now own a 6-1 record on the year. 

The Green and Gold will return to action this week with a home match against East Texas Baptist on March 11 at 10 a.m.
