JACKSON, Miss. - Senior cross country runner Doug Mumme has been selected as the C Spire Athlete of the Week following his performance at the East Texas Baptist Invitational this past Saturday in Marshall, Texas.Â
Competing with other NCAA Division III schools in the 8K race, including schools in the American Southwest Conference, Mumme finished 6th out of 52 runners in the Division III category with a time of 27:48.64.
The senior missed his personal best by 1:03, but improved his season best in the 8K by 29 seconds, set back on Sept. 24 at the Rhodes Invitational.Â
Mumme and the rest of the Blazers will return to the course Saturday at the Goucher Cross Country Classic in Towson, Md.
