JACKSON, Miss. - De'la Mayers has been selected as the C Spire Athlete of the Week following his performance in this past week's three home games, ending January 30, 2016. Mayers led the Blazers in scoring in all three games.

Mayers best performance of the week came on Tuesday, when he went 11-of-11 from the floor to finish with 23 points. Mayers also had seven rebounds, two blocks, two assists and a steal in the game.

In the game against UT Dallas, Mayers scored 25 points with two assists. The senior was 8-of-11 from the free-throw line and also had six rebounds and a steal.

The Oak Grove, Louisiana native finished with 20 points, two assists, two blocks, and three steals against Ozarks. He also had a week best of eight rebounds in the game.

The senior finished this week with 68 points, and 21 rebounds, while also grabbing six assists, four blocks, and five steals.

Mayers and the rest of the Blazers will travel to Clarksville, Arkansas to begin the second half of the ASC East schedule with a rematch against Ozarks on Thursday.
