ATLANTA, Ga. - Belhaven junior centerback Ciaran Colvin has been named the Collegiate Conference of the South Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

The honor is Colvin's first of the season and fourth of his career. Colvin anchored the Belhaven back line during a 2-0 week, playing all 180 minutes as the Blazers picked up road and conference victories. Belhaven allowed just one goal across the two matches.

The Blazers opened the week with a 2-1 comeback win at regionally ranked Rhodes. Colvin assisted Zachary Howard's equalizing goal in the 61st minute, and the Belhaven defense held the Lynx scoreless over the final 36 minutes to secure the program's first win over Rhodes since 2014.

Colvin followed with another 90-minute performance in Saturday's 2-0 shutout of LaGrange. The Blazers held the Panthers to five shots on goal while recording their second clean sheet of the season. Colvin also contributed on the attacking end, placing Belhaven's first attempt of the match on target in the third minute.

Through 10 matches, Colvin has made nine starts and played 727 minutes. The New Port Richey, Florida, native has recorded one goal, two assists and four points while helping Belhaven win five consecutive matches. The Blazers have outscored their opponents, 20-4, during the streak.

Colvin scored his first goal of the season in Belhaven's 4-2 win at Hendrix and is tied for second on the team in assists.

The weekly award adds to an already decorated career Colvin, who was named First Team All-CCS in each of his first two seasons and was selected as the Most Valuable Player of the 2024 CCS Championship after helping the Blazers capture their first conference title of the NCAA era.

Colvin earned his first CCS Defensive Player of the Week award as a freshman on Oct. 22, 2024. He received the honor twice during his sophomore season, on Oct. 7 and Oct. 21, 2025.

Colvin and the Blazers return to action tonight when they host Millsaps in the Riverside Derby. Kickoff at Belhaven Bowl Stadium is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
