KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Belhaven Women's Soccer team earned the 2025-26 United Soccer Coaches College Team Academic Award, the organization announced Friday.

The Blazers recorded a 3.55 team GPA during the academic year to receive the honor. Programs must post a team GPA of 3.0 or higher to qualify for the award.

Belhaven was one of 451 women's teams recognized nationwide. United Soccer Coaches honored 777 college programs overall, including 326 men's teams. Belhaven joined Covenant, Maryville and Piedmont as the four women's programs from the Collegiate Conference of the South to earn the recognition.

The recognition comes less than a month after 25 Blazers were named to the CCS Academic All-Conference Team. That total led all Belhaven programs and helped the university place a conference-best 137 student-athletes on the team. Honorees were required to maintain a GPA of at least 3.30 during the academic year.

The Blazers finished 2025 with a 14-5-3 record, captured their first CCS championship and made the program's first appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament. Their 14 victories were the program's most since 2001.
