A FIFTH STRAIGHT SEMIFINAL
Belhaven has reached the semifinal in every CCS women's soccer tournament since the conference began play in 2022. The Blazers advanced to the final in 2024, won the title in 2025 and can make a third consecutive championship appearance with a win Friday.
Belhaven is 6-2-1 on the pitch in CCS Tournament matches. Its lone draw came in the 2022 semifinal at Maryville, where the Blazers were eliminated on penalty kicks. The past two tournament runs have included semifinal shutouts of Piedmont: 1-0 on the road in 2024 and 1-0 at home in 2025.
THE ASBURY SERIES
Belhaven leads the all-time series 2-1-2. The teams played a scoreless draw in 2024 and a 2-2 draw in the 2025 regular season before Belhaven won last year's championship meeting and this season's conference match. The 2025 final remains their only previous CCS Tournament matchup.
OCTOBER REWIND
Asbury took 10 of the first half's 12 shots at Belhaven Bowl Stadium on Oct. 10, but
Addi Roberts made four saves to keep the match scoreless.
Abby Jordan broke through on a free kick in the 73rd minute, and Belhaven held on for a 1-0 win. The Eagles finished with a 15-7 advantage in shots, but none of their five second-half attempts reached the goal.
DEFENSE SETS THE PACEÂ
Belhaven enters the tournament with eight shutouts in 14 NCAA-countable matches, matching the total Asbury's opponents have managed in 16 matches. The Blazers have allowed 10 goals for a CCS-best 0.71 team goals against average and lead the league with an .894 team save percentage.
Against CCS opponents, Belhaven went 4-1-1, allowed three goals and recorded four shutouts. Last year's championship team finished with 13 shutouts in 22 matches.
ROBERTS IN GOALÂ
Roberts leads qualifying CCS goalkeepers with a 0.84 goals-against average and an .886 save percentage. The senior has made 70 saves and recorded five solo shutouts. She was named CCS Defensive Player of the Week four times this season and five times in her career.
Roberts played all 90 minutes of both of Belhaven's victories over Asbury in the past year. She made four saves in the 2025 championship match and four more in October's shutout.
A NEW LOOK BACK LINEÂ
First-team All-CCS defender
Adie Sheeley and second-team selection
Hayden Kessler have been central to Belhaven's defensive season. Sheeley started all 13 of her appearances and played 1,080 minutes in her first year with the Blazers. Kessler, a freshman, started 12 of 13 matches and logged 1,070 minutes. She also assisted on a goal in the 4-0 win at Agnes Scott.
WHITING'S SECOND SELECTIONÂ
Alexis Whiting earned second-team All-CCS honors at forward for the second consecutive year. She leads Belhaven with five goals and 12 points and has added two assists. Three of her goals came in the Blazers' first three conference matches; she later scored the winner against Millsaps and converted the equalizing penalty kick against Mississippi Christian.
Whiting was Belhaven's lone returning All-CCS selection from the 2025 championship team.
JORDAN'S DECISIVE TOUCHÂ
Jordan has scored two game-winning goals this season, both in conference play. She opened the scoring in Belhaven's 4-0 win at Agnes Scott before delivering the lone goal against Asbury. Her free kick in October came just over three minutes after she entered the match.
THE EAGLES' RESPONSEÂ
Asbury has won four straight since its loss to Belhaven, shutting out Piedmont, Ohio Christian, Agnes Scott and LaGrange by a combined 11-0. The Eagles reached Huntsville with a 1-0 quarterfinal win over LaGrange on Saturday. Milei Baker scored in the 83rd minute after Asbury had built a 28-3 advantage in shots.
Asbury has scored 30 goals this season, second-most in the CCS, and has taken 278 shots. Anna Sparks leads the Eagles with six goals and 14 points, while Emily Carpenter has five goals.
ALL-CONFERENCE TALENT
Belhaven and Asbury each placed six players on the 2026 All-CCS teams. Sheeley earned first-team recognition for the Blazers; Roberts, Kessler, Whiting and
McKenzee Gregory made the second team, and
Kinsey Carter received honorable mention. Asbury's first-team selections were Sparks, Baker and defender Maggie Perry.
NOW AND LATERÂ
Friday's winner advances to Saturday's CCS championship match. The tournament champion earns the conference's automatic berth in the NCAA Division III Championship.
