ATLANTA, Ga. -Â For the second time this season,
Kimona Haynes has been named Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Female Track Athlete of the Week after another standout stretch across multiple meets.
Haynes turned in a strong two-meet performance at the Belhaven Midweek Open and the Southern Miss Invitational.
At Belhaven's home meet, Haynes controlled both sprint events she entered, winning the 200 meters in 25.32 seconds and the 400 meters in 55.21. Her 400 time continued to build on her early-season success and ranks among the top marks in program history while sitting fifth nationally in Division III.
She followed that performance with another strong showing against a deeper field at Southern Miss. Haynes posted a personal-best 12.04 second time in the 100 meters to place sixth overall, a time that ranks 16th overall in NCAA Division III this season. She also took third in the 200 meters with a 24.58, a mark that ranks seventh nationally.
Across the two meets, Haynes competed in three sprint events and recorded two wins, a personal best, and multiple nationally-ranked times.
Haynes and the Blazers head to Rhodes this weekend for the 7-Way Invitational in the last meet of the regular season before the CCS Outdoor Track & Field Championships later this month.
