JACKSON, Miss. - As 2025 draws to a close, Belhaven Athletics is proud to recount some of the many moments displayed by Blazers student-athletes and teams that made this calendar year one to remember. Over the remainder of the year, multiple moments will be recounted, featuring each of Belhaven's athletics programs.
TOP MOMENTS OF 2025: BLAZERS MENS SOCCER ADVANCES TO CCS SEMIFINALS
Our sixth top moment comes from the Belhaven Men's Soccer team, who defeated Huntingdon 5-0 in the CCS Quarterfinals.
The Belhaven Men's Soccer team secured their third consecutive CCS Semifinal appearance behind a four-goal second half in a 5-0 win against Huntingdon.
The Blazers struck first on an own-goal off a corner kick to take a 1-0 lead heading into the locker room. After the 15-minute break, the Blazers came out firing on all cylinders.Â
Courtland Williams scored off a set piece just 40 seconds into the second half. The Blazers continued to put pressure on the Hawks backs, scoring their next three goals in a 3:16 span to take a commanding 5-0 lead.
Avery Anders finished with two goals in the 56th and 58th minutes respectively. 40 seconds after Anders' last goal, Sanchez finished a phenomenalÂ
Samuel Hadley assist for the fifth and final goal of the evening.
The Blazers out-shot the Hawks 26-5, with half of Belhaven's shots on target.
Danny Bahena, who was recently named 2025 CCS Goalie of the Year for the second consecutive season, finished with his sixth clean sheet of the season and four saves.
The Blazers finished the year with another 10-win season, the second straight year reaching that mark.
