JACKSON, Miss. - Drew Duckworth (Denham Springs, La.) of the Belhaven Men's Track and Field team and Kimona Haynes (Jackson, Miss.) of the Belhaven Women's Track & Field team have been named the C Spire Athletes of the Week following their strong performances in competition for the Blazers from last Wednesday thru this past Tuesday.

Duckworth, a senior mid-distance runner, set PR's in the indoor 600 meters with a time of 1:28.90, the indoor 800 meters (2:06.35) and the mile at 5:00.24 at a variety of meets last weekend. He finished in ninth-place at the KMS Invitational last weekend.

Haynes, a senior sprinter, ran competitive times in four different events, highlighted by the indoor 200-meter race where she finished in third with a time of 25.60 seconds. She also had a sixth-place finish in the 60-meter race with a time of 8.04 seconds.

Duckworth and Haynes will have a few weeks off of competition before the Blazers return to the Bulldog Invitational at Birmingham, AL on February 13th.
