Women's Soccer Set to Host Piedmont in CCS Quarterfinals

JACKSON - Following a quarterfinal bye, the Belhaven women's soccer team heads into the CCS Semifinals as the No. 2 seed, hosting No. 3 seed Piedmont tomorrow night at 6:00 PM.

Record vs. the Lions
The Blazers are 4-1 all-time against the Hawks, including a 2-0 win earlier this month. It's a rematch of last year's CCS Semifinals, where the Blazers won 1-0 on a Nneka Udeh game-winner in the 57th minute.

Road Back to the Championship
The defending CCS Runner-Ups finished the regular season with a 12-4-3 overall record with wins against top-seeded Maryville and a regular season win vs. Piedmont.

Lions' Last Match
Piedmont and LaGrange fought for 120 minutes in a 0-0 scoreless draw. On the final kick of the match, Piedmont scored to give the Lions a 4-3 decision.

Lions Season in Review
Piedmont comes into the matchup with an 11-match win streak, with their last loss coming against the Blazers on Sept. 27. During the streak, they have conceded just a single goal in that stretch.

Emma is Electric
Reigning CCS Offensive Player of the Year, and the first player in Blazer history to be named All-Conference in three consecutive seasons, Emma Antonoplos has scored 12 goals this season, the second-most in the CCS this season.

Hip Hip, Addi!
Goalie Addie Roberts leads the conference with a 1.07 goals against average in 16 matches this season. Roberts, in her first year with the Blazers, also has three shutouts.

Snell is Excelling
Midfielder Lauren Snell has stepped up her game in her senior season with the Blazers, notching at least one point in seven of her last eight matches. She has started in all 17 matches she's played while tallying a career-best seven goals and six assists.

Desoto Delivers
Midfielder Ashlyn Desoto has made a huge impact to close the season, scoring goals in each of the final two regular season matches. She joins Lauren Snell as the only two Blazers to score goals in consecutive matches this season.

Playoffs!
The Blazers match is the final of two CCS Tournament matches that night. No. 1 seed Maryville is host to No. 5 Asbury at 5:00 PM CT. The winner of the Belhaven/Piedmont match will play the winner of that match on Saturday afternoon where the lowest seed will host.
