NEW YORK - Belhaven Track & Field duo 
Kimona Haynes and 
Ashaunti Barnes each turned in strong performances Friday at the Rutgers Scarlet Knights Open hosted in New York.
The Belhaven pair each ran in the Women's 400 Meters and 200 Meters at the meet and landed top performances in events that featured sprints from each division of the NCAA Track and Field landscape.
In the 400 Meters to start the day, 
Kimona Haynes turned in a PR time of 57.36 seconds which landed her 3rd overall and a top 15 time in Division III in the event. Barnes made it a pair of Blazers in the top 10 as she placed 7th with a final time of 58.86 seconds.
To end the day, the pair each ran in the 200 Meters with Haynes recording her second top 10 finish of the day, placing 6th in the event at 25.46 seconds while Barnes landed a top 20 finish at 26.21 seconds.
The Blazers Track & Field team continues their indoor season on February 15-16 when they compete at a pair of events hosted by Samford University.
