JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven Men's and Women's Tennis teams fell to Division II Christian Brothers University on Friday as they continue their Spring 2024 campaign.
WOMEN
The Belhaven Women fell 9-0 on the day to the NCAA DII program after being swept in doubles play by identical 6-0 match score lines. In single's play
Lily Grace came closest to taking a set off her Christian Brothers' counterpart, falling 6-2, 6-0 while
Lillian Williams took a set from her opponent in both matches falling 6-1, 6-1 on the day.
MEN
The Belhaven Men were beaten 7-2 by Christian Brothers on Friday but picked up an impressive doubles win in the top matchup. Reigning CCS Doubles Team of the Week,
Abraham Gonzalez and
Justin Humphrey, took down the top CBU pairing 8-6 on the day. In singles action,
Mark Breedlove picked up a solo victory after his opponent was forced to retire partway through their match.
Both tennis teams will return to action tomorrow when they host Marion Military Institute at Parham Bridges. Matches are set to begin at 2:00 PM.
