DECATUR, Ga. - The Belhaven Women's Tennis team continued Collegiate Conference of the South play on Saturday, falling 6-1 on the road to Agnes Scott College.
Agnes Scott claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2, while the No. 3 position was decided by forfeit.
In singles play,
Rebekah Nichols delivered the highlight of the afternoon for the Blazers. Competing at the No. 1 spot, Nichols earned a convincing 6-3, 6-0 victory to secure Belhaven's lone team point. The win marks Nichols' third singles victory of the spring and continues her steady play at the top of the lineup.
Millie Gallarno turned in one of the most competitive matches of the day at No. 2, opening with a 6-2 set win before Agnes Scott rallied to take the match in a third-set super tiebreak.
Evey Moore also battled at No. 3, pushing the second set to a tiebreak before falling 7-6.
Arica Eason competed at No. 4, while
Gracyn Martin saw action at No. 5 as Agnes Scott secured the remaining singles points to clinch the team result.
Belhaven will return home next Thursday to continue conference play against Huntingdon College.
