BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Belhaven Track & Field program opened up their indoor season slate on Friday at the Birmingham Indoor Icebreaker hosted at the Birmingham CrossPlex. It was a strong showing for the Blazers who are looking to open up the season well before competition ramps up in the spring semester.
For the Belhaven Women,
Ashaunti Barnes turned in the top overall finish as she placed 6th overall in the 400 Meters. Teammate
Kimona Haynes was not far off Barnes' pace, finishing 11th in the event.
Myisha Turner would finish 20th overall in the Women's 800 Meters, while
Jakia Joiner finished 17th in the Triple Jump.
On the Men's side,
Justice Moore posted a top half finish in the 200 Meters with a time of 22.93 seconds. Allex Allen posted a top 30 finish in the Men's Shot Put on Friday afternoon while
Alex Reed grabbed a top 25 finish in the Long Jump.
