BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - A trio of Blazers from the Belhaven Football team have been named to D3football.com's All-Region teams as announced by the publication on Wednesday.
Mathew Cacamo,
Constantine Hontzas and
Wyatt Beck each earned an All-Regio nod following strong campaigns for the Blazers.
Freshman
Mathew Cacamo was named to D3football.com's All-Region III First Team as a Special Teams player. Cacamo helped lead Belhaven's special teams coverage units this fall and made a sizable impression in his debut season. Cacamo had a blocked kick, forced fumble and recovered a fumbled punt snap for a touchdown this season, all on special teams. Additionally, the New Orleans native recorded five tackles while also helping cause a muffed punt.
Constantine Hontzas was named to D3football.com's All-Region III Third Team as a kicker following his final campaign for the Green & Gold. Hontzas was named to the All-USA South First Team after leading the league in Field Goals Made and Field Goal Percentage. Hontzas was in the top five in Division III in Field Goals Made and Field Goal Percentage as well while breaking Belhaven's single season field goal record and career field goal record this season.
Wyatt Beck was named to the D3football.com All-Region III Third Team as a linebacker following a career-best campaign. Beck was named an All-USA South First Team players after leading the conference in total tackles. He was among the national leaders in solo tackles and solo tackles per game this season and earned Belhaven's nomination to Mississippi's prestigious C Spire Conerly Trophy.
