Wyatt Beck of the Belhaven Football team as announced as a nominee for the C Spire Conerly Trophy by the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame on Tuesday.
Beck, a junior linebacker from Baton Rouge, has had a strong season for the Blazers as an anchor for the defense. Beck led Belhaven with 89.0 tackles on the season which also was the top mark in the USA South.
t was a career-year for Beck who helped Belhaven to a 5-5 season which included a 5-2 stretch to close the season. The third year man had a team-leading 60 solo tackles and Blazers' best 11.0 tackles for loss. Additionally, Beck grabbed a pair of interceptions and a pass break up while forcing and recovering a fumble.Â
