Kevin Griffin Named CCS Softball Coach of the Year

ATLANTA, Ga. - Belhaven Softball Head Coach Kevin Griffin has been named the Coach of the Year for the Collegiate Conference of the South on Monday following another impressive season by the Blazers.

Griffin led the Blazers to a third straight regular season conference title, spanning the American Southwest Conference (2021 & 2022) and now the CCS. The Blazers finished conference play 14-2 earning the top seed in the CCS Softball Championship Tournament.

The Blazers sit 27-11 overall this season and hold stellar wins over top-ranked programs including #2 Berry and #11 Birmingham-Southern. Griffin is now at 397 all-time wins as Belhaven Head Coach and will hope to have a chance to record 400 victories in a potential postseason run this year.

Griffin, along with his coaching staff, were named the ASC Coaching Staff of the Year in both 2021 and 2022 making it a run of three straight seasons that the Blazers' program has earned the conference recognition.

Griffin and the Blazers return to action this weekend when they host Maryville College in the Championship Series of the CCS Softball Tournament. The series will be a best-of-3 slate to determine the 2023 CCS Champion.
