ATLANTA, Ga. -
Dawson Albin of the Belhaven Baseball team earned CCS Player of the Week honors on Monday for his outstanding performance in the weekend's series win at Berea.
Albin helped the Blazers pick up a road series win over the Mountaineers with a big weekend at the plate. The Blazers' shortstop went 7-12 (.583) with a double, a triple, a home run, five runs scored, and eight RBIs. In Saturday's doubleheader, Albin recorded three hits in both games to lead Belhaven in an offensive onslaught of 33 runs on the day. He also clubbed his second homer of the season in the opening game of the twin bill.
On the season, Albin is hitting .356 with 52 hits, 11 doubles, three triples, two long balls, and 31 RBIs. The senior infielder is currently riding a 24-game hitting streak into postseason play.
Albin and his teammates enjoy a weekend off before competing in the CCS Tournament which will be held May 3-6.
