BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -
Kade May of the Belhaven Baseball team has been named to the D3baseball.com All-Region VI First Team following his career year on the mound for the Blazers. May's selection was announced in the organization's All-Region release on Tuesday morning.
May had a career-year for the Blazers, finishing the campaign with an 8-2 record across 14 starts and 15 total appearances. May finished the season with a 2.46 ERA across 98.2 innings pitched and racked up four complete games including one complete game shutout.
The success of the Florence native helped lead Belhaven to their first ever NCAA Tournament appearance where the Blazers swept through their first ever regional and made it to the Super Regional round where they were one of just 16 teams remaining in the country. In the Webster Regional, May put together one of his strongest starts of the year, throwing a complete game against Rhodes while allowing just one run and striking out a career-high 10 hitters.
With his All-Region VI First Team nod from D3baseball.com, Kade remains eligible for a D3baseball.com All-American bid with the national honors set to be announced on Wednesday. In addition to earning D3baseball recognition, May was also named to the ABCA / Rawlings All-Region VI Second Team.
