LENOIR CITY. Tenn. – Belhaven Men's Golf wrapped up their season-opening tournament on Tuesday, placing 6th in the Maryville College Invitational. The Blazers secured a top-half finish after shooting 315 (+27) on the final day.
Freshman
Gannon Williams led the Blazers in his first collegiate tournament, finishing t-21st after shooting 78 (+6) in round two. Williams shot 155 for the tournament.
Will Justice placed t-26th with a total score of 157 after firing an 81 (+9) on day two.
Merrick Rotolo finished his college debut in 28th place with his second-round score of 78 (+6). He shot 80 (+8) a day ago for a final of 158.
Luke Couch responded well Tuesday with a 78 (+6) to finish in a tie for 30th.
Andrew Scherer carded 82 (+10) in his second round, finishing his tournament with a total of 161.
As a team, the Blazers led the tournament in pars with 100 over the two days. The Green and Gold also played the Par-Five's exceptionally well, shooting a combined 3-over to finish second in that category.
The Blazers will continue the fall slate on October 3rd and 4th in Gladewater, Texas for the Tempest Intercollegiate.
