LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Kennedy Carruth and Allie Gordon of the Belhaven Softball team was named to the 2022 Schutt Sports / NFCA Division III National Player and Pitcher of the Year Top 50 awards list.

Kennedy Carruth, a sophomore from St. Francisville, La., was an NFCA First Team All American last season.  In the circle, Carruth has a 14-2 record and holds a 1.86 ERA. Additionally, she has pitched 92 innings and 128 strikeouts. Offensively, she holds a .315 batting average, .876 OPS, and a .539 Slugging percentage. Furthermore, Carruth is tied for the team high in doubles with 11 and has two home runs on the season.

Allie Gordon, a sophomore from Macon Ga., was the other Blazer to be named to the NFCA Top 50 list. Offensively, she currently holds team high in batting average (.449), OPS (1.283), at-bats (98), hits (44), tied with Carruth in doubles (11), Home runs (8), RBI (36), and Total Bases (81).

Belhaven is currently #5 in the NFCA Division III Coaches Poll as announced on Tuesday.

The Blazers will look to sweep the LeTourneau University YellowJackets beginning on Friday, April 8 for a doubleheader in Longview, Texas with the first pitched slated for 4:00 p.m. The Third game of the series is Saturday, April 9 with the first pitch to begin at Noon.
